The company PepsiCo has however expanded from its namesake product Pepsi to a wider range of food and beverage brands, the largest of which include the acquisition of Tropicana Products in 1998 and also the Quaker Oats Company in 2001.

The company PepsiCo and its other combined subsidiaries as employed approximately 263,000 people worldwide as of December 2015.
The company believes that genetically-modified products can also play a role in generating positive economic, social and also environmental contributions to societies around the world which is particularly in times of food shortages.
